Spotify - Music for Every Moment

Spotify is the top music streaming platform in the world, with over 200 hundred million active listeners daily. For our short form brand identity, I teamed up with the amazing Will Burkart to create a mock ad for Spotify’s playlist feature. Our campaign focuses on using dynamic typography and abstract 3D visuals to represent tone and energy of these playlists.


Social Deliverables

 

For this multi-platform campaign, it was also import for us to branch out of the traditional 16x9 aspect ratio. We designed with other media platforms in mind, such as Instagram and Snapchat in order to reach a larger range of audiences. These are the vertical and square deliverables. Enjoy!


The Playlists

The three playlists we chose to spotlight: Happy Hits, Fresh Finds, and All Night Dance Party. It was important to showcase a variety in scale and repetition in the design, to make the type feel energetic and fun. I had a lot of fun animating the typography for this piece! These were the final type resolutions.

In each sequence, we wanted a unique 3D scene to represent the mood of each the playlists. As we were designing these compositions, we knew we wanted the forms to be round and fluid to match the flow of the songs in their respective playlist. This gave us room to have fun and explore. These were the final 3D designs created by my talented partner Will Burkart.
